Imvomvo Training and Management Services is a S21, a non-governmental organization that specialises in training and all services relating to the development of physical activity and sport in communities and schools. In 2001, Imvomvo Manager Thoko Mlonyeni, started youth development projects by holding netball and rugby tournaments for children under 11 to 15 in Mdsantsane. This intervention aimed to revive these sports in the area and encourage involvement in sport in order to improve their daily circumstances. Imvomvo Training and Management Services was established in response to formalise and give a legal structure to the Active Community Club programme. During 2002 and 2003, with the help of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the initiative grew into the Activity Community Clubs (ACC) The clubs expanded the programme from running tournaments to offering regular training and physical activity sessions for children and young people in Mdantsane.
